What is dental sedation?
Dental sedation comes in various forms and is used to put the patient into a dreamlike state, leaving you feeling calm, relaxed, and drowsy. Some patients do not even recall receiving treatment after it’s over, while others remain awake but comfortable and at peace.
What types of dental sedation are there?
There are several types of dental sedation:
Is sedation a painkiller?
Sedation does not work as a painkiller, so we will also use a local anaesthetic to ensure you are pain-free.
Do you offer any other options to help calm my nerves during treatment?
Yes! Some patients have told us that they do not react well to the sound of dental instruments, so we offer Bose noise-cancelling headphones and your choice of playlist throughout your procedure.
Will I need to be accompanied home?
Yes. When delivering sedation, we always require patients to be accompanied home by a friend, family member, or another responsible adult.
