Often described as the ‘natural’ facelift, thread lifts have been devised for patients who want a little help with their skin but don’t want to commit to surgery. Thread lifts are non-permanent, and easy to maintain and top-up, if you love the look. They can also be completed in just one appointment.
What does a thread lift treat?
Thread lifts can tackle sagging skin on the face and neck, leaving you looking instantly younger and the skin more defined and contoured. This natural facelift treatment is designed to help sagging skin in the lower part of the face and neck. It can be used to target other areas of the face, including marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and the eye area.
What is a thread lift?
During thread lift treatment, temporary sutures are placed in targeted areas of the face and neck where they subtly lift the skin, thereby tightening the skin so that it appears tauter and more sculpted. They then promote the production of collagen, helping the skin to appear younger and more radiant.
What are the threads made of?
Silhouette Soft thread lifts are made of polylactic acid, and PDO thread lifts are made of polydioxanone. Both brands have their strengths, and our highly informed and skilled team will be able to recommend which treatment is most suitable for your needs.
How long does thread lift treatment take?
Most thread lift appointments last 30 – 90 minutes, depending on the patient’s treatment plan.
Will thread lift treatment be painful?
We’ll first administer a local anaesthetic so you’re comfortable throughout.
Is there any recovery time after a thread lift?
The recovery time for this treatment is 1 – 5 days. We do also advise avoiding rigorous activity and exercise for the first two weeks after treatment.
How long do the results from a thread lift last?
Results from this treatment usually last 12 – 18 months.
